Hi! I'm Lottie.
I began teaching piano on zoom during Melbourne’s first lockdown. I’m 15 years old, and I’ve been learning and playing the piano, both Suzuki method and traditional, since I was a toddler. I also love to write music.
I think learning the piano should be fun, and so I adapt my teaching method to meet the needs of my individual students. Whether you’re interested in:
-
Learning the traditional way
-
Learning with a focus on playing by ear
-
Or if you simply want to have fun and learn to play some of your favourite songs or styles
I love all sorts of music, from classical to pop, and I also like to improvise, sing, and write songs. I’m really enthusiastic about teaching all age groups, especially the elders.
Earlier this year, I was interviewed for the 2021 Seniors Festival with one of my students, Jenny:

“I recently decided, at the age of 75, to take up playing the piano again, starting where I left off at the age of ten. Lottie is the best teacher I could have found. She has been infinitely patient with me as I stumble my way through the exercises and simple pieces. Lottie’s brilliant and creative young mind and talent seem to be the perfect complement to my ageing abilities. We have a similar sense of humour, and we always have great fun when we get together for the lessons”

Lessons are half an hour, in person or on video call/zoom.
